Robert Hutton joined FPS in 2008 as General Manager. Robert is committed to working alongside clients in a business partnership, developing a training path for our staff and our industry, and running FPS in accordance with best business practice. In his former working life he was the Business Development Engineer for Eaton Fluid Power NZ and has owned and operated a successful mobile hose and connector franchise for ENZED. Robert is a qualified fitter and turner with over 20 years industry experience.

Gary Allen is both a director of the business, and responsible for Technical Sales and Service. Gary played a key part in the set up of Fluid Power Solutions Ltd. He served his time as a fitter and turner and moved into diesel engine work soon after, mainly in the marine industry. Since then he has spent over 30 years specialising in hydraulics, with many of those years hands-on, before concentrating on the system design side of hydraulics.

Brent Brown (Brownie), our Operations Manager, served his time as a heavy automotive engineer and worked in this field on a wide variety of mobile machinery both in NZ and in the Australian mines for 15 years. Then he moved into full time hydraulics, attending various training courses along the way. Brownie has been in hydraulics now for 14 years, and has been running our workshop for 4 years.

Brendon McIvor is more often known as Flange. He is our Onsite Services Manager, Hose and Fittings. Flange has been working in and around the Port of Nelson in the hose and fittings industry for over 20 years, running his own mobile service vans for 8 years. He has been managing the mobile hose and fittings fleet for FPS for 2 years now, and is committed to getting his vans onsite to help customers as efficiently as possible. Flange's approach is to make sure his vehicles are well equipped and his team well trained, to get you back in business as quickly as possible.

Chris Gray is our Work Shop Foreman and is responsible for our compressed Air/Pneumatics, Hydraulic Workshop, Tube divisions. Chris is a fitter/turner by trade and was trained in Nelson as a compressed air/pneumatics specialist prior to going to Scotland for two years. During that time he worked as a mobile compressed air/pneumatic specialist, servicing a wide range of compressors and air equipment all over the country. That experience, combined with his 'do it once, do it right' attitude give us a very effective Compressed Air/Pneumatics and Tube division.

Steve McFarlane (aka Macca) has been our Procurement Manager since 2000. His background is primarily hose and fittings, but he has worked in a variety of roles in wholesaling, providoring, and procurement. Steve is involved in regular product training and induction of new staff, and maintains a hands-on link into our hose and fittings division by regularly spending time iwth our mobile units on the West Coast. With a huge knowledge of our product ranges, Macca is the one to help you find the appropriate parts for your application.
