Find FPS SAFE STOP in the latest professional skipper
We’re proud to see FPS’ proprietary, accredited SAFE STOP system feature in detail in the November/December 2025 issue of Professional Skipper magazine. This is a long-standing, reputable maritime publication and FPS is in great company in this issue.
The article features some insights from FPS’ own Gary Allen, as well as from TEG Risk Senior Safety Engineer Charles Webb who said, “The whole vision around the FPS system – and why I like it so much – is that it is hydraulic. It is completely unique in the sense that it’s the only system I know of that is designed to run fully on hydraulics.
“Our series of machinery safety standards, AS/NZS 4024, define five levels of reliability (Performance Levels) for safety functions depending on risk – ‘a’ through to ‘e’. Depending on SAFE STOP’s configuration, this system would be capable of up to Performance Level ‘d’ which covers the vast majority of machinery in use. And that’s saying something for a fully hydraulic system.”
