The ‘fps approach’ in professional skipper magazine

The people who power FPS’ accredited SAFESTOP were featured in the July/August 2026 issue of Professional Skipper magazine.

The team approaches each job with a listening and problem-solving mindset. It’s a client-first approach embedded into every level of FPS’ business, particularly as the diverse team is frequently working with SAFESTOP systems that need to stand up to salt, water, mechanical vibration and hard daily use — reliable performance and components that are built to last are essential.

FPS’ story was part of a larger feature on “Nelson’s Working Waterfront,” which took an in-depth look at the many businesses and innovators who make Nelson’s Port, marina and waterfront the vibrant places they are today. As the article says, “The Nelson marine precinct is more than its infrastructure. It is the group of people, skills and companies that have grown around the port over generations.”
