Looking to move to New Zealand?

We employ over 30 staff and have been established for over 15 years. Our engineers are some of the most experienced in New Zealand and work on international projects with leading brands. We are the preferred hydraulic partner for many leading companies in the top of the South Island, New Zealand.

FPS is constantly growing and offers staff training and great opportunities for self-growth within the company.

In this full-time role, you will be both hands-on in the workshop and on site. You will also have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries that FPS services such as the marine and forestry industries.

The ideal applicant would be:

  • NZ Trade qualified in Fitting
  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Friendly and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent at time management and able to meet deadlines
  • Able to work well unsupervised as well as part of team
  • An excellent communicator
  • Physically fit 
  • Able to read design drawing
  • Flexible to work extended hours (optional overtime available)
  • Interested in learning new things and working across a range of industries

The ideal applicant would have:

  • Engineering experience
  • A good work history and references 
  • A full and current NZ driver’s licence
  • An eye for detail and the ability to produce products to the highest quality
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

 Salary package will be based on skills and experience.

The full-time role will be based from our head office in Nelson. You will be responsible for meeting project deadlines and handling day-to-day jobs for our clients.

We’re looking for an energetic individual who can work unsupervised, who wants to be in the hydraulics/pneumatics industry and is keen for a long-term career position.

The main responsibilities of the job are tube and pipe bending, installation, fabrication and general fitting work across our large and varied customer base.

Preference will be given to someone with welding and fabrication skills. Previous experience in hydraulics/pneumatics is highly desirable. If you’re the right candidate but need a bit of on-the-job training, we can provide that.
